Happy New Year too all my blog friends! It's hard to believe that another year is behind me, and I'm looking forward to an even better 2013.
Getting back into the swing of life after having celebration after celebration is tough. I've "resolved" to get a handle on my eating (or OVEReating), by doing a strict Paleo diet for a minimum of 90 days. Last year I lost about 25 pounds in 12 weeks. I have high hopes of achieving that kind of success again! The whole house is on a "diet". The kids aren't necessarily overweight, but I don't think working in a few more fruits and vegetables will hurt them. So far, I've looked forward to waking up in the morning to a nice big bowl of berries and nuts (and almond milk).
Along with eating well, of course I plan on throwing in some exercising. My "goal" is to get in at least some sort of physical activity at least 3 times a week. With kids sports schedules, my work schedule and just life, sometimes it's hard to fit in the time needed. However, I'm making it a priority to make me healthier, so even if it's not at the gym, I will be moving my butt somehow.
I'll keep you all posted on my progress. I may even look for a weight-loss link-up, so I can hold myself accountable. If you know of any - let me know!
The kids returned to school today. Oh what plans I had to keep them on track while they were off on Christmas vacation. That was a big fail. Ashley was able to stay on top and complete a few of her math iXl's. She even did it without too much coaxing. Colton read a few books to me, including one small chapter book. I was so proud of him, and he was just beaming every time we hit a new chapter. His reading has improved so much. Overall, their Christmas vacation was just that - a vacation - sleepovers with cousins and at Grandma & Papa's. They loved it.
I'm still trying to catch up on some blog reading. Next week, I'll be back on my game. I promise.
