About GurleeGirrl

I'm Heather (GurleeGirrl) - and I write this little 'ole blog. GurleeGirrl - is a mis-spelling of Girly Girl - but it kinda describes me. I am a girly girl - but with a twist.
My favorite color is pink.

I love Captain and Diet Coke with lemon (not lime).

I hate maraschino cherries.

I like wine - sweet red wine - but I like it on ice. You wine lovers don't judge me.

I love ska print.

I'm a music junkie. I listen to everything but rap.

I hate drinking out of cans.

I wear makeup everyday, and that means lipstick too.

I love wearing glasses - but normally wear contacts.

Most people describe me as loud and outgoing. I make friends everywhere.

I laugh a lot.

I hate when people are uncomfortable.

I try to never be rude, and I hate when people are rude to me.

I'm a crazy sports mom. I will always be my kids' biggest fan.

I go to the movies at least once a week, normally on "Movie Tuesday", and sometimes I'll blog my review.

My blog is a bunch of randomness, which is sometimes about my family, my Posse (friends) or my thoughts. I have "met" so many amazing people through my blogging and by following others. If you have a blog - leave me a comment and I will follow you.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2009. I had a lumpectomy, which did not get all the cancer, so I had a mastectomy. They determined I was Stage 3 (due to the size and number of lymph nodes involved), so I got to have 6 rounds of ACT chemo and 30 sessions of radiation. It was a rough 2010, but I survived and am now thriving!

I was once the girl who wouldn't even ride in the car with the windows down for fear of messing up my hair. Since "the cancer" I have definitely started living a different life. I am open to trying new things, strive to be healthier and always want to enjoy my life. I hope to make my list of firsts in 2012 even better than my Firsts in 2011. You could say being bald taught me to enjoy the ride with the windows down.

I hope you stick around and see what things this GurleeGirrl takes on this year. I promise it will be fun.
