Well it's time for another Thumbs Up Monday!
Glenn will start us off today with a thumb up for Howard Stern returning to his live radio show today.
I'm giving a thumb up today because I finally did what 250,000,000 other people have done - I joined Facebook!!! Those who know me - understand this is HUGE for me. Now I don't have to stalk GTuck's friends, I'll have a few of my own. BUT - just to be clear, the MAIN reason I joined is to win Blogger giveaways! Most require you to "Like" someone/thing on Facebook to get an entry into their contest - so now I'm gonna be "Like"ing like a fool!

Might Be A New Record
On top of all the shopping and eating I did over the long 4-day weekend, I also managed to set a new record for me - I went to 3 movies in 1 day!
Yeah - you might be wondering how one would accomplish such a feat. Let me tell you - it wasn't that hard.
The day was Saturday, and the first movie I attended was:
Yeah - you might be wondering how one would accomplish such a feat. Let me tell you - it wasn't that hard.
The day was Saturday, and the first movie I attended was:
I absolutely adored this movie. I loved the way my kids (and nieces and nephew) responded to this movie. They were so connected to the characters and asked many questions afterwards. Our teetering non-believers are almost convinced that Santa is real ;O)
I'd give this a Too Die For rating. With or without kids - it's a MUST see.
Second movie on my list was:
Although this movie is remake of the 1984 classic - I felt that the movie was a little more than a complete redo. There were some interesting changes, but the main story was obviously the same. It was weird seeing Julianne Hough in the role of Ariel. Her sweet, wholesome image just couldn't let me believe she was a "bad girl". She can dance - but she just doesn't have the hard-edge that I expected from Ariel.
Overall, I though the movie was Good. It was worth the $3.50 at the Farmington Civic Theater.
Since the timing worked out, Jenny Jenny and I stayed for the late showing of my third and final movie of the day:
This movie scared me to death!!! All I can say is I have never been so aware of people coughing, sneezing, blowing their noses, etc. The idea that one person can spread a disease so quickly puts some fear in me. What I walked away with from this movie is I am gonna be a crazy hand-washer and will always be carrying hand sanitizer. There were a few scenes that just made me say ewwwww too. This was not a feel-good movie, but hey, at least Matt Damon didn't die :) Also, how come I never noticed Jude Law has some crazy snaggletooth? I guess he had a fake tooth added for the movie role. Thank goodness! It was so distracting to me, I had trouble concentrating on anything else when he was on screen!
I give this a Very Good rating. Germaphobes will go insane after watching this one.
So there was about 6 hours of my Saturday. I only had popcorn at one of the shows though. I tried to be good :) How many movies have you sat through in one day? How many would you want to sit through?

Thumbs Up On Monday
So here we go:
I give today a thumb up because it’s the beginning of a short 3-day work week. Then there will be an insane amount of shopping to be done on my “day off”. Continuing our tradition, I will be joined by my mom and sister. I, for one, am thrilled that the stores are opening up earlier this year. It sucked sleeping for 2-3 hours and having to get up - now - forget about going to bed - my shopping will start at 9pm Thanksgiving night!! All this is totally worthy of a thumb up.

It's Only Wednesday
Although it is only Wednesday, it's been one hell of a week. And not in a good way. UGH
I took my kids to see Jack and Jill for Movie Tuesday. I would rate this movie as OK. My kids are 6 and 10 and the movie was kid-friendly enough for me. There of course were some humorous parts that they obviously are too young to pick up on, but it was not offensive to them either. I like when a movie can appeal to the adults, but doesn't cross the line for the kids. Good job Adam Sandler. The highlight for me was watching my son crack-up during a bathroom blow-out scene. Every time he heard Jill fart, he cracked up. Yep - he's my kid - with my sense of humor. I laughed right along with him.
Looking forward to:

Looking forward to:
- Midnight screening of Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Pt. 1 - you can catch me at the AMC Livonia Screen 9 showing tomorrow night.
- Having my palm/cards read by a Psychic on Friday night. Hoping she sees a better and healthier 2012 in my future.
- Sons basketball game Saturday morning - nothing beats watching a bunch of 6 and 7 year old boys shooting baskets!

My Can't Live Without Items
I'm not a high maintenance type of girl but I do have a high maintenance hairdo. No matter if I'm going out or not, I make sure my hair is done and I have makeup on. I have a few "Can't Live Without Items".
Hair
Hair
Face
Perfume
Unfortunately, Ralph Lauren Cool has been discontinued!!! It's a nightmare. I have worn this perfume exclusively for years. Not sure what I'm going to do once I suck ebay dry. Looking for suggestions for a new signature scent.
Do you have items you can't live without?

Are You Ready?
Will I be one of the Twi-Hards waiting for the midnight showing next Thursday night?
YES!!!!!! AND I CANNOT WAIT!!! I'm dragging GTuck, Jenny Jenny & Chrissy along with me too!
In case you were wondering, I'm totally Team Edward all the way.
I do believe that this is when the story really starts get interesting. We'll meet some new characters, and see a more mature side of all of our old favorites.
Yeah - I know how the story turns out - but I am looking forward to seeing it in all of it's Hollywood splendor.

Movie Tuesday Review
Well for Movie Tuesday we went to see A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas.
First, let me say this is the third Harold & Kumar movie, but it is the first one I have seen. Rest assured, I am fairly confident that I did not miss much by not catching the first two!
Obviously I was not expecting an Oscar-worthy movie. But seriously, this movie is full of unbelievable dumbness. Ok, I did laugh - but how can you not laugh at just plain ridiculous.
I did love the cheese ball 3D. NPH was HI-larious. His 10 minutes of screen time was great. Loved all the crazy stereotypes that were offensive as hell. Loved the vulgar claymation. Hey, even Santa made a cameo! I walked away from this movie with a smile. And sometimes that's all this GurleeGirrl wants - to escape from the real world and laugh. Mission accomplished.
So overall, I'm embarrassed to say it - but I can't give this movie a Shitty rating or even a Not Good rating - I have to give it an Ok (Good), because for $8 it took 1-1/2 hours of my Tuesday and made it pretty darn amusing.
FYI - Rotten Tomatoes gives it a FRESH 76%. Definitely not kid-friendly and I probably wouldn't recommend it for a first-date movie, unless your both pot-heads - then go for it.

Are You Addicted?
How many hours a day do you spend playing games on your phone?
I will admit, I have played my fair share of games, but I recently went through a slow-down. It seemed to monopolize way too much of my time. I would stay up till 2:00am playing with people. I'm the type of person that hates having a game going where it's my move. So if it pops up it's my turn, I play.
With the break I took, it's funny to see how the lack of play affected my opponents. I would get texts to "play our game", or others would yell at me in person to "play a word", or "are you ever going to play, it's been xx hours or xx days!". This cracked me up. Are you kidding me? People its a GAME. Relax.
But now I have downloaded a new App - Poker Pals.
And guess what - I'm sitting here phone-in-hand waiting for people to make a move! It's crazy. It's a Poker game, but you build your hand off the cards on the board. I'm loving it. I'm not a great Poker player, but I get the gist so far.
So, if you are a player - look me up - GurleeGirrl
I'd love to play you!

One of Those Days
So it's a RARE occasion that I crave chocolate. Don't get me wrong, I love me some junk food, but I normally crave me a greasy hamburger, chili cheese fries or something yummy like that. I can't remember the last time I needed/wanted chocolate.
So I scavengered around for some change - to go to the wonderful snack machine here at work. Well, once I got there - they didn't have what I craving....
Our machine doesn't disperse such wonderful things. It only normally has a small selection of candy bars like Snickers (yuck), Twix (getting better) and M&Ms (normally the winner). So I almost pushed the button to get some M&Ms - but then I seen this - and decided it was a much better way to go. Not because it is chocolaty goodness, but because it's a healthier choice. Damn - when did I become so health conscious.
Well it wasn't chocolate - but hey - it totally cured my sweet tooth.
What's your snack weakness? What would you have gotten out of that snack machine?

Halloween Recap
Well it was a fun Halloween. This was the first year that my kids wanted to go separately. This created some anxiety for me, however, it turned out to be perfect.
My daughter - who at 10 thought she was too old to go trick-or-treating - decided to go as a "Devil Girl".
Love the EMO look. Took several photos - but her serious EMO look was standard in them all. Can't wait to show her this one in a few years :)
My son decided he wanted to be War Machine from Iron Man 2 this year.
He is always the poser for me. He seems to be saying "Don't worry mom! I will beat this ghoul up for you. Hi-yah!!" He always takes care of me :)
I love that halfway through we had to take a candy pit stop.
Afterall - he is my kid :)
Luckily there wasn't much left this year!
And even Malibu got in on the dressing up this year!
All in all we had a great Halloween!
Now - just trying to get pumped up for Christmas.....
